In between recording a pair of albums and dishing out features, Talib Kweli has been working as the head of Blacksmith Music to create The Community mixtape. The compilation began coming together in August, when he put out a request for tracks from members of his imprint's website. Of course, the tape includes tracks from and featuring Kweli along with cuts by artists on the Blacksmith roster, such as Jean Grae, whose track we heard a few weeks ago. The focus of the project, though, is on The Community and those who frequent YearoftheBlacksmith.com. I haven't had a chance to listen just yet, but I have been hearing positive feedback thus far, especially from people who tend to disregard music from "no-name artists."
