The recent Arizona immigration law has a ton of people up in arms, and has inspired responses from artists worldwide. Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli has decided to throw his hat into the ring with the raging "Papers Please," a song that ditches subtlety and goes right for the jugular of the issue at hand. No flowery metaphors to be found here, just a tirade of facts and opinions fired off at a head-spinning rate. The light, horn-tinged Krumbsnatcha instrumental keeps things from getting too heavy-handed, instead allowing the track to exude righteous confidence. While at times it seems like Kweli is reading the latter part of the song from a college essay, it's thrilling to hear him this fired up once again.
