Talib Kweli: "Palookas" prod. Marco Polo
Rather than just rely on rappers and producers to craft mixtapes, the owners of music sites have taken charge over the past few years and been the ones curating projects of this nature. The latest to do so is DDot, of DDotOmen. While the other tracks on A Show of Hands remain unknown, the first leak, "Palookas," finds the tape getting off to a damn good start. The cut features Talib Kweli flowing over a Marco Polo banger, offering a timeless feel that has me wondering why these two don't work together more often. Don't get me wrong, Kweli tends to have a decent ear for beats, but don't pretend like you wouldn't love a Kweli/Polo album or EP.
