It was a particularly music-heavy episode of Colbert Report last night, with Jack White coming on again, and Talib Kweli appearing as the musical guest and interview subject. Talib was pretty great as interviewee, taking Colbert's political questions and answering with a lot of thought. He should definitely spar with Bill O'Reilly at some point. The interview is below.
Above, we get to watch Talib tear into "Cold Rain" backed by a keyboardist, and Daru Jones, who tours with Black Milk, on drums. "Cold Rain" isn't exactly the best Talib Kweli track, but it is one that works well on a late night show, since it has a definite chorus, and a message my mom and dad could get on board with.
Gutter Rainbows is out now.
