T-Pain’s upcoming album Revolver has been in limbo for a while now, so yesterday he released the expansive mixtape/preview album Prevolver, which is a whopping 30 tracks long. One of the songs on Prevolver is “Big Man,” a Queen-sampling rock-rap collaboration with Tity Boi of Atlanta’s Playaz Circle. I can’t blame T-Pain for trying to duck all the Autotune hate by trying to make it as a rapper, but I think he would be better served by trying to hang on to the fans he still has---the fans who came to him for buttery hooks, not blistering rhymes. “Big Man,” though hardly dull, is heavy on the latter and completely void of the former.
