Syd The Kyd: "Lay It Sideways" F. Natel
Back in March 2011 when we were all still getting swept up in the Odd Future buzz -- ugh, I hate that I just wrote that -- one of the crew's most crucial members dropped a dreamy R&B tune out of the blue. It was OFWGKTA DJ/producer/singer/engineer Syd the Kyd, who teamed up with someone named Lux for the perfectly mellow "Flashlight."
Since then, we've heard more about her work with Matt Martians as the Internet than her solo stuff, though apparently she hasn't completely forgotten about that part of her career. Syd took to her Tumblr to share "the second track [she] ever wrote" in the Natel-assisted "Lay It Sideways," another slice of futuristic R&B goodness. Head to Syd's Tumblr to listen.
