A 48-year-old underdog with Broadway-caliber talent and a disarming British accent, Susan Boyle has captivated the U.S. media with her Ugly Duckling story. It’s funny, then, to think that she didn’t actually appear stateside until last night. Her America’s Got Talent performance of the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” together with her rise-to-fame video profile, is criminally endearing.
Her first appearance in Britain was sensational and the whole context of a dowdy spinster from the world of grey dawning like a sunburst was stunning. Her appearance in the finals there was lesser but still very good, a little weaker and less confident than her debut to the world- the "little tiger" that Simon pointed out after her first appearance was overwhelmed for the moment with it all, it seemed. The little tiger came back and while listening to her rendition of "Wild Horses' well, i was wondering, "Am I in Heaven, or is this a voice on earth."

The Rolling Stones "Wild Horses" about a drug overdose, was a brilliant choice for Susan Boyle. Her version with piano and orchestra was stunning and opened the song to a new audience. She showed vulnerablility and power in her rendition and totally captured my attention. I bought the prerelease album based on this song alone. I think Ceasar's Palace Colesium would be a great venue for Susan - I'd buy a ticket in a minute.

Stunning, inspirational and like the 1st time I heard "I dreamed a dream" I found myself playing it over and over. There are, and have been very few vocalists who have manage to create such an emotional experience as Susan does when she sings.
I'm no expert but there is something about the understated nature of Susan the person and performer that allows her voice to capture all your senses and bring you into the song with her. The result is your no longer just listening to another song, you feel your in the moment and totally involved with every line.
That's special and I just hope that those who are around her take care of her as she deserves to be as happy as she has given so many people so much joy in just a short period of time.
