It’s like the ‘90s all over again in New York this week. Pavement are playing a string of reunion shows in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and Superchunk has two sold out concerts at the Bowery Ballroom and the Music Hall of Williamsburg. This performance by the latter on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night (Sept. 20) isn’t likely to be too nostalgic though—it’s a track from the band’s new album, Majesty Shredding.
Mac McCaughan and Laura Balance still look pretty fresh faced for a pair who have been in this game longer than most, and Superchunk’s music still has a youthful vigor to it that is damn night irresistible.
