I suppose we can consider Sufjan Stevens's performance of "Too Much" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon a preview of his newly released visuals for the track. The video features much of the same imagery, such as his colorful onstage outfit and somewhat-choreographed backup singers/dancers.
But here, everything is much more erratic thanks to some stop-motion effects by director Deborah Johnson. Stevens and his crew are even more hipster'd out in the above visuals, though, as he dons a black, sleeveless Nike T-shirt and giant sunglasses while others wear throwback aerobics gear. The visuals get even more out-there about halfway through "Too Much," complementing the breakdown and growing instrumental intensity of the track.
The Age of Adz is out now.
