Sufjan Stevens recently directed an art film about the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway called the BQE, in which he juxtaposes orchestral music with Brooklyn scenes. "Movement VI: Isorhythmic Night Dance with Interchanges" is a cacophony not of honks and breaks but flutes and horns, making city grind into something more whimsical; you can practically see butterflies bursting out of taxi bumpers. Commissioned by the Brooklyn Academy of Music, BQE is out October 20 on Asthmatic Kitty. [Source: Spin]
