Suckers have been accurately described as being a sort of cross between Modest Mouse and new tribalists like Yeasayer, but the video for "Easy Chair" shows off the Modest Mouse influence more readily. The band ride a raucous, off-kilter chorus before backing off to let the simple melody skip by in the middle. Basically, just like a modest Mouse song. The clip even looks a bit like Modest Mouse's "Float On" with its paper doll-looking animation and mixing of animal pictures. But that doesn't really matter, because "Easy Chairs" is a pretty great song in its own right.
Suckers' self-titled debut EP is out now via IAMSOUND. [Pitchfork]
