Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks: "Senator" (Streaming)
We already know that Stephen Malkmus has acted quickly to resume his solo career following the Pavement reunion shows last year—the new Jicks album, titled Mirror Traffic, is set for release on Matador on Aug. 23. A track from that album titled “Senator” leaked onto YouTube when Malkmus and his band performed it in Portland a while back, and now the recorded version of that song gives us our first taste of Mirror Traffic. On first listen it’s very much business as usual, albeit with a predominant lyrical theme that centers around a senator that wants a blow job. Nice! Check it out in the clip below, via OneThirtyBPM.
