Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks: Astral Facial (Live at Siren Festival) (MP3)

Our photographers were all over Siren Festival this weekend, and I hear it was a pretty good time (my Midwest zip code prevented me from making the jaunt to Coney Island, but I have seen The Warriors like three times, so I feel like I have a general gist of the experience…there were goons in baseball uniforms there right?).
Anywho, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks played a blistering set, with tons of tracks from Real Emotional Trash, and a new track, called “Astral Facial.” The song is a slow-burner that would have fit well on Trash, with Malkums sounding more like a ‘70s guitar-rock hero as opposed to a ‘90s indie-rock forefather.
