“Stay The Course” F. Posdnuos & Talib Kweli

For anyone wondering just how far removed DJ Shadow his from his 2006 hyphy project The Outsider, we ask you to listen to his latest single, “Stay the Course.” The track is a funky-ass, breaks and bass-driven tune featuring guest verses from hip-hop mainstays Talib Kweli and Posdnuos, of De La Soul. It’s pretty much exactly what you would have wanted to hear, say, a decade ago, but it still sounds pretty fucking great today.

The track is also another strong entry into his recent single release catalog that includes “I Gotta Rokk” and “I’m Excited,” the latter of which boasts an appearance from Afrikan Boy. All three of these cuts will appear on Shadow’s forthcoming new album, The Less You Know, The Better, which drops Sept. 27.
