I wonder if Stars are ever bummed that they record music in the 2000s and not the 1980s, because their music is basically tailor-made for teen movies where an "unconventional"* girl lands the captain of the football team. I mean, instead of soundtracking a grainy, decent-sized budget video, "Fixed" should be over a montage of two teens playing tennis and realizing they have feelings for each other. This is still cool, but I feel like it's missing some awkward human coupling.
Stars' Five Ghosts is due out on June 22 via Soft Revolution/Vagrant.
*- You can tell these girls by their messy brown hair. If the girl is blonde, she is a cheerleader and totally conventional.
