St. Vincent’s Actor is another GarageBand success story. Annie Clark claims to have written the entire album using the software and has scored a minor hit on the Billboard 200 as a result. She brought “Marrow” from the album to David Letterman’s show last night (June 24).

Clark’s uber-nerdy band are put through their paces as this unhinged track lurches through some off-kilter time changes. The highlight is a distended guitar solo from Clark, which she unleashes in the final third of the song, perfectly demonstrating her idiosyncratic talent.
