St. Vincent: "Kerosene" (Big Black Cover Live) (Video)

It might as well be covers day over here, what with the excess of cover videos that have hit the net in the last 24 hours. But none are as visercal, transcendent, and face it, fucking awesome, as this cover of Big Black's "Kerosene" by St. Vincent. St. Vincent was part of the bill for the "Our Band Could Be You Life" concert that happened in New York on Sunday that was in celebration of Michael Azerrad's book of the same name. The show found Tune-Yards, Dirty Projectors and others covering bands from the book.

But St. Vincent steals the show here, whipping up a guitar meltdown, matching the intensity of the original, killing any of that talk about "women who rock," since she's obviously one of the best guitarists indie rock has. This is just the best. Stop what you're doing. Nothing is more important than seeing this right now.
