Our anticipation for Annie Clark's third album as St. Vincent, Strange Mercy, increased tenfold last Friday when we caught some great footage of her performance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. To be fair, we were already pretty keen on Clark's material, particularly her latest stuff like Strange Mercy single "Cruel."
She's still pushing the track pretty hard leading up to the album's release in two weeks and last night she gave it a nice boost by appearing on the Late Show With David Letterman. She and her band proceeded to tear through their performance with Clark leading the way with her sweeping vocals and absolutely killer guitar work. Both her singing and slaying only get more engaging as the track surges and surges before making a mini-noise explosion at the conclusion. Awesome.
Strange Mercy drops Sept. 13.
