Spree Wilson: "How Long?" (Video) (Prefix Premiere)

While not a new voice to some, Atlanta rapper/musician/singer Spree Wilson began popping up on the radar of the blogosphere in 2009. He was working heavily with equally eclectic rapper/singer/producer Novel, especially on the fantastic free project Suspended Animation. The two again linked up for "I Am," a woozy Ben Folds-sampling cut featuring Talib Kweli.

But now, Wilson is taking a step away from features to focus on his upcoming album, The Beauty of Chaos, which is scheduled to drop this year. The first track to leak from his record is the acoustic jam "How Long?" The track is a huge contrast from what he has released in the past as he sticks to crooning for the entire track. While its accompanying video, which was directed by Novel, might not grab you at first, it gradually pulls you in with its air of honesty and glimpse into Wilson's creative process.
