Spoon

Panic (Live Smiths Cover) (MP3)

Average Rating: 8.00

“Panic” by the Smiths was once voted in the top 25 of the 50 “Greatest Indie Anthems” by the NME. It only figures that one of the best bands at writing today’s indie anthems would cover it.

And of course, I’m talking about Spoon. The Austin band played the Smiths opus to hang a DJ by a while back.

The cover is pretty solid; it’s kind of funny how Britt sings in a near British accent throughout the track. But when you get down to it, it’s hard to mess up a song this good.
