At a time when big-budget music videos are becoming a thing of the past, we find ourselves more and more engrossed in the ones that are minimalist and feature sharp editing. The latest example comes via director David Alan's video for "Dreaming" by Los Angeles duo Sound Fx. The track, off their free Still Dreaming album, is appropriately titled as it drifts by like a boom-bap hallucination. Alan has embraced that idea in this video, which features Sound Fx's Maddy McFly and DuPree swaying upside down while a female lounge singer croons on the hook and vocal samples. This is proof positive that you don't need to go crazy with your music video to make an impact.
