My heart almost stopped when I saw the screen grab for the video of Soulja Boy's performance on Jimmy Fallon last night: "Oh god no, the Roots didn't back him up did they?" Thankfully, Soulja Boy brought his own hip-hop band to back him up on his faux-rock "Turn My Swag On," a song that makes Lil Wayne's "Prom Queen" seem like Arcade Fire. I was unaware that "swag" could be turned off, nonetheless turned on. Either way, "swagger" is dead now that it has hit the lyrics of the likes of Soulja Boy.
