For someone who has enough money to literally buy another human being (like that kid in The Toy), Soulja Boy certainly seems to spends a lot of time whining about not being liked. First he said he was going to quit rap, then he complained about his media coverage. Now he's got a new video out, called "Successful," that takes aim at all of us for not liking Soulja Boy and preventing him from being successful. Huh? Didn't I just make a Richard Pryor reference about how he could buy human beings? I totally did.
Well, Soulja Boy thinks we're preventing him from being successful. But then he talks into stacks of money and has about 17 pieces of jewelry that are more expensive than yours and my total financial assets (I have a futon, a laptop and a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch). A tear just rolled down my cereal-crumbed face for you Soulja Boy.
(Though I do have to give him some credit for the "memory card" line. It made me smile queasily, which is leagues better than most of his verses.) [Videogum]
