I'm only four years older than the 19-year-old Soulja Boy, but he makes me feel impossibly old. I will never understand what talent he has that got him a huge contract at Interscope, or how his songs can be playing everytime I turn on a radio, or his obsession with making sure he shouts out his MySpace at every opportunity. And I'm supposedly of his generation.

Soulja Boy and singing pal Sammie were on Leno last night to perform "Kiss Me Thru the Phone" Soulja's latest infraction on the Billboard charts of this country. I'm not sure if I like the singing hype-man role Sammie played when he wasn't doing the chorus (singing Soulja's off-beat lyrics), but then again, I'm pretty sure I don't like any of this. It was sort of entertaining, in that Sammie and Soulja Boy made sure to work the crowd and wander loosely around the stage, a move that hardly anyone ever does. But not even Carrot Top, easily the greatest comedian of all time (if you ignore every other comedian in the history of the world except Dane Cook, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Dunham and Carlos Mencia), coming in at the end could really get me into this.
