Even though we haven't posted about Sole in a little while, that doesn't mean the indie rap-stalwart hasn't been keeping busy. He recently released another volume in the Mansbestfriend series amidst work with his Skyrider Band, which has a new album due out in July.
He has also been releasing "detournements," or tracks that feature the MC spitting over industry beats. His latest, "Donald Trump in a Gilded Age," features Sole tackling some heavy issues, from the fate of Kool Herc to Bho Pal India's chemical skill. And he's opted to do so over Mac Miller's "Donald Trump" instrumental, which was put together by Buddy Peace as the actual instrumental for the song didn't exist.

The other day I was watching the new Mac Miller video, “Donald Trump.” The song got stuck in my head, and I became obsessed with it. I watched a few Mac Miller videos and decided he seemed like a good person. After all the bullshit I’ve dealt with over the years, the last thing I felt like doing was making something that could be construed as a diss record. Because lets be honest, diss records are not very #BASED.

I release this song with nothing but positive will and love for all my fellow artists. This is some fuck Donald trump shit and everything he stands for shit. Recently on CNN Trump said we should be charging foreign counties for our military interventions. I think we should just close down all our bases, dismantle the CIA, the pentagon, and take care of our citizens.
Yea! Sole is back and his still ain't afraid to spit out the truth.
