We’ve already heard Amy Winehouse’s contribution to the upcoming Quincy Jones tribute album, Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, and now here comes Snoop Dogg, performing his version of “Get the Funk Out Ma Face” from that record live on David Letterman’s show. The track was a huge hit for the Brothers Johnson back in 1976 (see below), and Snoop’s version remains pretty faithful to the nailed down funk groove of the original. He even manages to get the usually stoic Letterman crowd on their feet, which is truly a rare site in the annals of late night TV.
