Billy Corgan took his new version of the Smashing Pumpkins to Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit to perform a pair of new tracks (the videos for “Owata” and “Song for a Son” are embedded at the bottom of this here post), and to do the “alternative rock” classic, “Disarm.” But it wasn’t a completely standard performance—Corgan and company were joined onstage by AOR crooner Josh Groban. Groban lends the song some geezer-oriented gloss via his huge voice, but overall the take is pretty entertaining. [via Stereogum]
