The excellent Gothamist House series takes bands out of their element and deposits them in notable buildings across New York City. The site has already had a few entries in its series (see here) and yesterday (Nov. 10) they put up footage of Small Black playing in the incredible surroundings of the abandoned atrium of a building at 5 Beekman Street, which has been shuttered for around 70 years. The band’s bittersweet electro-indie sound is a great match for the desolate surroundings, and is artfully brought to life by the folks at Foglight Films.
