Sloan: I'm Not a Kid Anymore (MP3)

After over a decade of vainly trying to achieve the same fame in the U.S. as in Canada, the sorely underappreciated Sloan have come out guns drawn for their tenth studio album, Parallel Play. I have listened to "I'm Not a Kid Anymore" at least five times, and I'm trying to think of a time when the otherwise amiable Halifax band has had this much of a bone to pick: this is in Minor key with a capital M (though still maintaining the band's trademark hook-ridden power pop). Sounds like Chris Murphy and Andrew Scott are determined to start their 40s on the right track, and by no means am I complaining. [Via: Stereogum]
