Sleepy Brown: "You're My Lady"
It's been about five years since we previously heard from Outkast affiliate Sleepy Brown, who is also one-third of ATL's successful production crew Organized Noize. But the singer-producer is gearing up for a comeback this fall with the Sex, Drugs & Soul album, his first since 2006's Mr. Brown. But it is very much an understated return by Brown as his lead single, "You're My Lady," is about as, well, sleepy as it gets. The track plays out like an Al Green burner placed on low, with a gentle leading guitar line and subdued drums that lightly flourish into mini-guitar solo and harder percussion. Turn the lights down low and light a candle for this one, y'all.
