The world’s favorite Icelandic bowed-guitar, post-rock quartet, Sigur Ros, played a show last month at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Icelandic Independence Day, and apparently Current was there to tape the whole spectacle. Current will be airing said performance on August 5 at 10 p.m. EST and PST, and online. The performance is sure to be entertaining (I finally just saw Heima on Sundance OnDemand, and it was amazing), and is said to feature a bunch of cuts off the group’s new album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. Current has posted a teaser for the performance you can see here. [Fader]

"played a show last month at the Metropolitan Museum of Art..."
they actually played at the Museum of Modern Art, for anyone keeping score ;)
