The producers of Jimmy Fallon’s show hit on a neat idea when they decided to promote the reissue of the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St. by having their musical guests for the week perform covers from the album. Last night (May 12) was the turn of Sheryl Crow, who performed the side four opener, “All Down the Line.”
While the guest list might seem unadventurous, Crow at least reached out to the Roots for some help on this version of the song, which perfectly suits her country-ish twang. And with the Stones apparently considering doing some full album Don’t Look Back-style shows in the future, this could be the start of an intriguing period in the band's career.
