Detroit-bred producer-MC Sheefy McFly has worked with dudes like Danny Brown, Dopehead and Boldy James in his young career, so it's no surprise that he's a favorite over here at Prefix. It was back in June when we premiered his Bad Bitches and Dank mixtape, which harvests some fresh visual product today.
Explicitly, the "Base Knock" video may be a gritty and authentic affair, but the theme cleverly plays upon the idea portrayed in McFly's lyrics: "Flipping tracks like crack rock/Turn that dope up, let the base knock." Cue our MC, slanging CDs like rock and getting knocks on the door from agitated (music) junkies. He even has to bruise his way out of a bust—probably because the music's too potent for unitiated ears.
It all comes as company to the weightless, hypnotic vibe of Sheefy's self-produced music. Watch "Base Knock" below and download Bad Bitches and Dank here.
