Raveonettes guitarist Sune Rose Wagner recently stated that he was inspired by a New York City dancer when writing “She Owns The Streets. “I’ve noticed her before dancing wildly on Bowery, running crazily in the street among the cabs and horrified passers-by,” he said, and he proceeded to write the dark pop gem in about twenty minutes.
Now comes the video for the song, which appears on the band’s upcoming Observator, due out September 11. The clip takes the song’s story literally, offering up shots of a girl dancing in New York streets while the Raveonettes spin the tale. Watch it below.
