She & Him dropped in on Pete Wetnz’s FNMTV to premiere this cartoony clip for “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?” off their debut album Volume One. The video’s light nature serve the light song well- at least until Zooey Deschanel gets killed and spouts cartoon blood.

I love this video, and She & Him, for that matter. Something about Zooey Deschanel throws me off, though. The happy act doesn't seem very genuine to me, especially after having seen her perform (though she was very sick). She just seemed to have more of a dry, sarcastic sense of humor than what's being portrayed here. |
