Did Zooey Deschanel have “crazy coke eyes” on David Letterman’s show on Friday (April 2)? We’ll leave it up to Hipster Runoff to answer that important question, but it’s unlikely the actress/musician and M. Ward care too much now they’re bona fide pop stars—current album Volume Two has just entered the Billboard album chart at No. 6.
It’s likely that Deschanel was just nervous and overwhelmed by all the attention, but she’s still in fine voice on this version of “In the Sun,” which also gives her a chance to plink away at a Fender Rhodes piano. “Lovely,” says Letterman at the close of the song, which just about sums it up.
She does look nervous, but I think she warms up a bit, and she sounds pretty good...
i never have any idea what hipster runoff is talking about, although maybe that's the point (?). i thought this sounded pretty good. she looks nervous, but that's ok.
Zoey, I told your ass already, stop the charade! Nobody likes your voice honey. Knock it off please, its embarrassing. You stick w/acting, I'll make the music.

Benny, darling, thanks for the advice but you're not doing any better these days. I'm just trying to muse and inspire you. Maybe spark another We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes? And quit joking around, everyone loves my voice. Just look at me.
