In these cut-and-thrust times it’s unusual to find a band still working the late night talk show circuit over a year since the release of an album. But few acts have the staying power of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. The band appeared on Craig Ferguson’s show on Friday (April 29) to perform the closing track off I Learned the Hard Way, “Mama Don’t Like My Man.” This is simply a great way to experience Jones’ incredible vocal range, which is laid bare over a simple, stripped-down arrangement that shows off the Dap-Kings' wonderful (and rare) understanding of restraint.
