Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, aka the hardest working band in showbiz, appeared on Jay Leno’s show last night (Dec. 21), where they delivered a version of their seasonal track, “Ain’t No Chimneys in the Projects.” The song was released as a single in 2009, and draws on Jones’s childhood memories, all laid out over a slow Stax influenced groove that ends with her wishing everyone a happy Christmas. This one deserves to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ike & Tima Turner's "Merry Christmas Baby" and Carla Thomas's "Gee Whiz, It's Christmas."
