It's obviously appropriate if your name is Scuba to have a video that's filmed mostly underwater, though generally a koi pond is not the most interesting place to go diving. The Berlin based dubstep producer's latest offering is off the expanded edition of his album Triangulation, though you can also grab it as a 12" vinyl single.
Unlike the moodier work that comprises the album proper "You Got Me (I Got You)" is clearly intended for the dance floor, opening with an immediate 4/4 beat and chiptune-esque synth line. The only concession to Scuba's dubstep origins is a descending low bass rumble that occasionally decides to rear it's head. With fellow Hotflush label mates like Joy Orbison and Mount Kimbie, Scuba's tunes are increasingly pointing to a more progressive take on dubstep, a direction perhaps influenced by his extended DJ residency at the Berghain club in Berlin.
