The new series of Later with Jools Holland continued last night (Sept. 21), and it included this performance of “Any Which Way” by the Scissor Sisters, who were appearing in a country that has really taken them to heart. The band’s current album, Night Work, debuted at No. 2 on the U.K. album chart.
This performance is a great was to experience Jake Shears’ inimitable falsetto, although the sterile studio environment isn’t exactly conducive to bringing out the kind of euphoric live experience the band is capable of producing. Nevertheless, we get some endearingly loose synchronized dance moves, and a glimpse at how effortlessly this group can churn out melodic pop hooks that really sink into your brain.
