This video for the first single, “You Can’t Stop,” from Brooklyn band Sam Champion’s forthcoming new album (Heavenly Bender), is like what an eighth-grader would do if he could only use what was in his basement, and had no special effects budget, when he needed to film something for his TV Production class. Various objects (like Christmas lights, a cactus, syrup, hands, and bugs) are placed in front of the camera to jazz up a pretty simple clip of the band just playing in a room. The song is all garage-rock messiness-- pretty much exactly what you’d expect from these Pavement-loving chaps.
