This Monday is the 25th anniversary of the release of "Walking on Sunshine," the Katrina and the Waves single that soundtracked a million movie montages. To make an event of it, Brooklyn Vegan is curating a tribute EP with versions by different musicians. First released is the folksy offerings of Sam Amidon.
Absent are the dated horns, tambourines and unrestrained shouts as Amidon strips the song down with his guitar and plaintive voice. But it still retains all of its original jubilation, just a little bit more mature and restrained. This is front porch music for a lovely day.

This is pretty cool. Not quite as good as his take on Tears for Fears' "Head Over Heels". But still, this is pretty sweet.
Really cool! Can't believe it's been 25 years. Great sound, man. Checkout the Walkin on Sunshine game too for fun. http://primarywavegames.com/walkingonsunshine.html
