"ohK," the A-side to Salem's new 7-inch out on Big Love, sounds surprisingly brighter than the band's previous material. It's still a far cry from "bright," of course, but the "walk of shame"-oriented lyrics are just slightly lighter fare than the erotic taunting of a song like "Whenusleep." Even in the song's space-y, distorted instrumentation there are bright stabs of sunlight amidst the clouds. Summer's almost here, though, so some mellowing is to be expected. [GVSB]
