Saint Etienne: "No Cure For The Common Christmas" (Streaming)
We already brought you news of Saint Etienne’s Christmas album, which is titled A Glimpse of Stocking and is available now. The album includes reworkings of old tracks plus seven new songs, and the latter includes “No Cure For the Common Christmas,” which you can hear in full over at RCRD LBL. This is the kind of propulsive Euro pop groove that will appeal to fans of “He’s on the Phone,” but there’s also a softer undertow to it, which is reminiscent of the sadder songs in the band’s back catalog (the majestic “Avenue” in particular).
