Remember when Sade saturated the talk show schedules with multiple performances of “Soldier of Love”? Well, she’s back, and is filling in a few gaps she missed out on last time—notably Jay Leno’s show. Perhaps Leno is pissed about the slight, as he keeps referring to Sade as “they” in his intro. Unless Ms. Adu’s group has adopted “Sade” as some kind of catch-all band name?
Fortunately, Leno’s gaffes are soon forgotten when “Babyfather” begins, which demonstrates why Sade’s Soldier of Love has soared over the 1 million sales mark in the U.S.—no mean feat in these lean times for the music industry. Rumors abounded in February that Sade would be a surprise addition to Coachella this year, and while she wasn’t added to the official lineup, she’s clearly in the vicinity...so perhaps it will happen?
