Sade’s last venture onto our TV screens was via a bizarre appearance on Dancing with the Stars. Last night (April 15) she settled into a more familiar role, with a slot on Craig Ferguson’s show, where she performed “Babyfather” from the recent Soldier of Love album.
There’s not much to add to this that hasn’t already been said about the other versions of the song performed on various TV shows. It’s a slightly reggae-fied version of the usual Sade template, aided by some affecting vocals by her aw-aren’t-they-cute female backing singers.
