Ryan Adams: "Blue Thunder" (Galaxie 500 Cover)
My favorite part of this stream is the guy who yells “NICE!” right after Adams mentions he’ll be covering a Galaxie 500 tune. Considering that the show was in Boston, and Galaxie’s well-inscribed northeastern lineage, it must’ve been pretty awesome for the homers. “Blue Thunder” is a fairly sedate throb as is, but Adams takes it down to a piano and his own miniature voice, sometimes leaving himself all alone on the just-out-of-reach high notes.
