Royce Da 5'9": "Second Place" (Prod. DJ Premier)
Now that his Bad Meets Evil EP with Eminem has leaked and drops in nine days, it's time for Royce Da 5'9" to begin prepping his forthcoming Success Is Certain album. We haven't heard much about the record since "Writer's Block" leaked in April, so what better way to throw it back on our radar than with a track produced by DJ Premier?
He and Royce have pretty much delivered nothing short of greatness since Premo put together "Boom" and "My Friend" on the MC's 2002 debut, Rock City (Version 2.0). "Second Place" continues that trend with its wordplay-filled verses and a beat littered with horn stabs and buzzing bass. With this and "Writer's Block" in the can, consider us excited for Success Is Certain.
