Roky Erickson: "Goodbye Sweet Dreams" f. Okkervil River

"Goodbye Sweet Dreams," the first single from the Okkervil River/Roky Erickson LP, True Love Cast Out All Evil, is now streaming over at Pitchfork. Erickson's voice is less manic than his 13th Floor Elevators/solo days, but it's diminished capacity lends the song a certain soulful dustiness. Okkervil are pretty solid in their capacity as backing players; they let Erickson run the show until the last 25 seconds when they really flare up.
