Robin Pecknold: "I Let You" (New Song) (Video)

Fleet Foxes recently finished a two-night homecoming stint at Seattle's Paramount Theatre. During both gigs, singer-guitarist Robin Pecknold performed a brand new acoustic cut by himself.  According to 107.7 The End, it's entitled "I Let You." Watch fan clips from each gig, below.

According to  The Seattle Times, Pecknold segued into the track by talking about local all-ages venues. "Part of this song takes place at the Paradox, and part of it takes place at the Old Fire House," said Pecknold.

"I Let You" is a tranquil and ghostly folk ballad about failed romance. It takes place on an August night, "after the band had played." As with many of the cuts off Fleet Foxes' 2011 sophomore effort,Helplessness Blues, the unreleased tune immediately recalls  Simon & Garfunkel. (Note: That's a good thing.)

Fleet Foxes are touring North America until October. In November, the indie-folkies will trek across Europe,  an eventually head to Australia, New Zealand, and Japan in 2012. That gets me tired just thinking about it.
